From Japan to Taiwan?

Is there some way to get from Japan to Taiwan.

My Friend and I are traveling to that area of the world and we were wondering if there some sort of ferrie that takes you to taiwan?

Or if flying is cheaper or what?

Any person experiences?

Don't know which is cheaper. The flight (round-trip) was around 80000 yen.

when is flying ever cheaper than other modes of transportation?  

if ferry = freighter, then yes you can arrive here by boat although it'll take 2 weeks and you may have to stow away in a container.

but seriously, if you can make your way to okinawa, then you may be able to hop on the cruise ship that goes back and forth.
