i am becoming so frustrated. i had my daughter june 14 and she was 7 lbs. 1 oz. When i left the hospital i had only lost 7 lbs. Now I have lost 14 altogether. I gained almost 40...I dont eat too much since i work full time plus have a 3 yr. old and 2 month old...I cant seem to lose this weight. Any ideas? I feel so overweight right now and look horrible. I walk with the kids when i have time, and i am a bartender so i run a lot at night when its busy. AND like i said i dont eat a lot. Maybe two full meals altogether a day. I dont have time to eat 3 meals and two snacks and what not.... i dont understand why i am not losing weight, and why i only lost 7 lbs when i left the hospital...i am assuming its because i was on a drip the entire time, but i dont know....any ideas as to how i can lose 30 lbs?

  1. How was your weight when you had your other kids?

I would say you were probably swollen and full of fluid when you came out of the hospital...I know I was...the shoes i wore TO the hospital didnt fit me coming home.

I had my baby in May and what seemed to work for me is walking. I try and get out everyday. I just joined a gym which will be even better.

Id say join a gym and go when hubby is home. It gives you time to yourself plus it gets you back in shape.

If you are still concerned, see your doctor...your bloodwork could show something but your situation seems pretty common for most women who just had babies.

They say it takes 9 months to put on the weight and it takes at LEAST 9 months to lose it.

  2. I know the time thing is hard but one thing you can do is eat more often it will keep you blood sugar in a normal range and in turn will help you lose the extra pounds. I had an easy time with my first but this time around is HARD I gained 40lbs and have lost like 10-15 of it and my son is almost 7 months old. Just know it took 9 months to put it on so give yourself at least that to take it off. Best of luck to you and remember to eat small thing during the day

I exclusively b.f and still have a hard time getting the weight off.

  3. I did not loose much weight at first either, in fact, i did nothing really for 4 months (other than the occasional walk) until i found out that the ymca will watch a child at 6 weeks of age (it felt as if it was too late).  i began running 3 days per week for 30 minutes and doing crunches.  within 3 months i had lost all of my baby weight and more.  i felt bad at first leaving the baby but they never change diapers and i was one room away, so i could go and peek at him.  i also breastfeed, which i hear helps with loosing that extra weight (although it wasn't noticable for a while).

my advice to you is to step it up a notch,  buy a yoga video or join a local gym with childcare.  it helps for relieving stress and with weight gain plus it is sooo good for you.  it will make you feel so much better about yourself.

p.s.  your baby is still only a little over a month old.  my boy is 9 months old and from what i hear it takes about 6 months to a year to loose the weight.  just take the initiative and do it.  i am a bartender too, but running around at work is a lot of stop and go so it doesn't get the heart rate jumping enough to burn tons of calories.  either way, don't starve yourself, just exercise!

  4. Ooh girl, I know what you're going through, lol.  I had my son June 21st.  I gained 34 lbs.  He was only 6lbs 6oz.  I went for my 6 week check up and gained a d**n pound!  My boy is 9 weeks old today.  I started Slim in Six at 6 weeks pp.  Go to Google.com and type it in for the website.  It has 3 phases and is relatively easy to do.  In 2 weeks I lost 17 lbs and 11 3/4 inches.

I did it before with my first baby.  I gained a whopping 121 lbs (I was 96 lbs pre-preggo and only 5 ft tall, lol).  All of the weight was off by week four.  And I also had the wrinkly, stretched out belly.  You'd be amazed at the results.  My belly got completely flat.

After my third baby, I was in size 1 jeans after a week and didn't exercise at all!  I don't know what the h**l happened this time, lol!  But it's steadily coming off and I owe it to this program.  Definitely give it a try.  It's not like other ones that you really have to force yourself to do.  I actually enjoy my free time to exercise and stretch.  It's very effective yet relaxing at the same time.

  5. I hear ya!!!  With my second I gained 35 lbs.  I had him - 8 lbs - and one week later was only 7lbs lighter than when they weighed me right before delivery!!!  I asked the doctor 'Did you forget something while you were in there?!?'  I had a c-sec.  He laughed and said that sometimes happens.  UGH!!  I never did loose the rest!!

This time I am determined to breast feed so I can drop some of the weight.  So far I am 2 lbs less than when I got pregnant.  I only gained 24lbs, but I was overweight to begin with.  For what it is worth, I said the same thing you did... I work -I am constantly moving, what the heck!  I was told to get a solid 30min of cardio in at one time a day.  So, I walk.  I had another c-sec so I don't jog or anything.  I just walk around my block for 30 minutes and drink 64 plus ounces of water a day (again I am breast feeding so I do that to keep my milk up).  I know 64 oz!  But I got a 'Smart Water' bottle, it is a type of water that comes in a 33 oz bottle.  I just refill it with my water of choice and make sure I drink two a day.  It doesn't seem like that much that way.  I like that better than drinking 8 8oz glasses a day... I just couldn't do that.

I am on baby #3 and only breast fed this time.  I hope it works.  LOL, so far I have lost the weight from baby #3 and am working on the weight from baby #2 and in 30lbs after that will be working on weight from baby #1, LOL... Altogether I need to loose about 60 lbs.  So.. in my eyes - you are way ahead of the game!!  Congrats!!!!

Anyway.. I hope this helps some.  Good Luck to you!!!

  6. Okay, one big question: are you breastfeeding?  For the first six months of life, babies should be exclusively breast fed for their sake, BUT this is also the way a mother's extra weight disappears.  Breastfeeding should continue for at least the first year.  This is not a guilt trip, this is the information all mothers should  know.  It is the secret of getting back in shape.
