  1. Well, my mom's German and I've been there once to Munich. You can go shopping, The swimming pools over there are really big and pretty too!You can also go sight-seeing. There are tons of really magnificent castles! Well, hope you have a great time and have fun!

  2. Go to Dresden.

  3. True, it does depend on what you're interested in, but location isn't really a factor because of the amazing Deutsche Bahn.

In Bavaria, there's the hub city of Munich which has endless things to do.  Touring the Frauenkirche, Munich's tallest building/Church, stopping in at the Hofbrauhaus for a world famous liter of beer.  King Ludwig's mansion on the outskirts of munich is also an amazing building to tour.  Not a fun thing, but the Dachau concentration camp is only about 20 minutes away.  Very, very impacting tour, highly recommened.  To the southern tip of Bavaria and Germany is the famous Neuschwanstein Castle.  Very Beautifully set in the German Alps.

Frankfurt am Main, is the most "Americanized" City in Germany with it's skyscrapers however boasts excellent night life.

Cologne/Dusseldorf/Bonn valley area is the largest metropolitan area in Germany.  Beautiful scenery and buildings to tour and visit.  Very culturally vibrant area, especially during Karneval season with is from November to mid-February.

Berlin - I don't think there is another city in the world that has as much history as Berlin.  If you are a history buff this is your mecca.  Tour the Reichstag to learn about the history of German government and WWII.  The Brandenburg Gate and Berlin Wall Tours are legendary to learn about the history of East Germany and East Berlin.  The hustle and bustle of downtown can also be felt if that's what you like too.  Great clubs and nightlife make this city legendary.

Just about wherever you go in Germany is full of some kind of history that the towns are very (or not so very) proud of.  Germany is an amazing country, and you will have a blast no matter where you end up!

    Safe Travels.

  4. Depends on when and where you go and what you are interested in.

In spring/summmer/fall you could go hiking across the mudflats in the German Bight, ride an historical narrow-gauge steam train in the Harz mountains or on Ruegen island, paddle a canoe in the Spreewald area, cycle from Hamburg to Dresden along the Elbe Cycling Path. In winter you could ski in the Alps, go snow-shoe hiking in the Swabian Alb, shop at Christmas markets or drink eggnog. There are also a huge number of museums, rock festivals, pop concerts, ....

There is a ton to do, just open your eyes to the possibilities when you are there.
