Funding for surgery?

My friends mother is suffering for retinal detachment(http://www.retinaphysicians.com/vrs-conditions-retinaldetachment.htm) . Being an immigrant she can neither afford insurance or the surgery itself. Where could I look for funding or something of that sort?

You are in a very tough position.  I would call some of the churches in your area and ask them.  They may not be able to pay for it, but they may be able to give you some referals.

Also take her to a county hospital, one that is non profit, and let them exam her.  They shouldnt turn her away
