Funerals, important question?

When you enter the viewing room and approach the casket, what are you suppose to say to them (in your head). My grandmother passed on and other than r.i.p., I'm sorta at a loss for words. What do you normally say or pray for?

  1. As a spiritualist, I do a short prayer asking God to send his angels to support the deceased. Send the deceased Love and Light from the Heart of God... picture it like a beam of light bathing their spirit and making them feel wonderful... the thought-form is powerful and very nourishing for the deceased.

You can also do this for the relatives left behind to give them comfort.

If the deceased had a long struggle with an illness, you know that this was a release for her. Please understand that once she goes into God's Light, she will be returned to the perfected prime of life and she will really love it... no pain or sorrow. She will be with the people she misses that went to spirit before her. You can mention this to those closest to her without fear... they will take comfort from it.

  2. You could say what she meant to you. It really depends on who the person was to you. Sometimes I don't say anything.

  3. A funeral is the chance to pay your last respects to the deceased. You can look at it as a chance to say something to that person for one last time. As you approach remember the good times you had with that person. You can say anything you want.... I love you, i'm going to miss you, I'll see you on the other side, Thank you for everything you did for me...etc, etc. or you can just say a simple prayer asking the Lord to give that person a safe passage into his Kingdom.

The main thing here is that you just remember what that person meant to you and how much your going to miss them.

  4. you just take some time to remember the good times...and never mind if she looks different the grandmother you knew and loved is in your heart forever.  remember her.
