Question:

Future of Wimbledon?

What does the future hold in the tournament within the next 5 years.

I say 5 because Federer admittedly will by all likelihood be retired and new players will be vying for the trophy, not just Nadal and Djokovic.

Wimbledon:

2009

2010

2011

2012

2013

Feel free to say an unknown will win it.

  1. Once federer's gone....there will be a fight between Nadal and Djokovic....and Ernest Gulbis...the next big thing....

Now that the population is increasing, so is amount of talent, more players are coming in so Nadal will never win!

  2. Nadal will obviously be a contender for the next few years as will Djokovic. I'd have to put Federer in the mix for at least the next two or three. He's so talented and plays a physically easy game. I'd like to think that Murray and Gasquet would be challenging but they are both a little flaky and need to improve their mentalities. They are still young so maybe they can do it. Gulbis is worth consideration. He's done well so far this year and has a huge game. I see him being a big factor a couple of years from now. Aside from that no names really jump to mind as legitimate threats.

  3. Nadal will be favored for the next few years to come but I disagree that he'll be at his prime at 26 or 27; his prime will be 25 and he will start declining, if he already doesn't have injury problems by then.

  4. i say roddick comes back and wins in '09, federer wins a few (2 or 3) and nadal wins one. i don't know about the women's side

  5. There are so many contenders that it's hard to pick year by year, but over the next 5 years i'd have to say 4 will go to Fed, Nadal, or Djokovic. Probably more likely Fed and Nadal seeing Djokovic's destruction this year. He could've at least taken a set off Safin!

  6. well i say rafa because he just one the wimbledon plus he's still young so he's still has more chances to win plus rafas surving is improving so yea probably rafa!!

  7. Nadal will be the favorite for the next 4 to 5 years by that he is 27  at the prime of his career.
