okay well i gauged my ears from and 18/20 (regular piercing) to a 14 gauge a week ago.

the left ear is COMPLETLEY fine. but the right ear is really swealled and hurts quite a bit...

well i took the ring out to soak it in seasalt and noticed the ear hole has alot of puss coming out..

it seems as if all of it needs to be drained out or something.

is this normal??

i'm worried.

  1. yeah sry to say you have a blowout STOP IMMEDIATELY and begin a healing process (neosporin, etc) and by the way you should use h2ocean for all piercings. you should never skip gauges and when gauging always use tapers and when they are ready for the jewelry use METAL jewelry because ceramic will irritate it but yeah before you can even get that far you have to heal that up buddy and start over..sry

  2. If you have pus coming out of it, you should see a doctor.

  3. No that is not normal....it sounds like you had a blowout, which is not good. You can get a serious infection and some serious scarring that can keep you from not going up any higher. I would take it out!!!

If you totally ripped or tore your ear (most likely in the back) you should go see a doctor, if it is serious you may need meds..  NEVER EVER skip sizes when gauging.  I went from a reg. and I am at a 2 never skipped and my ears are not doing what your are doing.

  4. Wash it with warm anti-bacterial soap.  And since it's a piercing and not a tatoo, you can put neosporin on it.  Do this 2-3 times a day.  And while you're cleaning it, soak the ring in peroxide and then salt water before putting it back in.  If it doesn't improve after a week, you should probably leave the ring out and get it looked at.

    Hope it improves!!

  5. number one rule when you stretch is to NEVER SKIP SIZES. i would down size to a 16 and wash it everyday. wait a couple weeks until its healed to stretch again.

  6. OMG YOU HAD A BLOWOUT!!! holy s**t dont you dare put that gauge back in! ok you did the right thing with sea salt put neosporin on it every time you think about it. if not you  run the risk of staff infection, but there really isnt much you can do sorry i couldnt help more , good luck :-s
