GRE test...?

I'm taking the GRE in October & every student I have talked to has told me that it made them want to die and/or consume mass quantities of alcohol. However, every professor I've talked to has said that it's not that bad. So which is it? And what's a good score?

  1. It is really not that bad. Are you taking it on a computer? If so, the questions are adjusted as you go along, so if you are doing very well you get harder questions, and if you are not doing as well you get easier questions. Each question is weighted differently.

The part I thought was hardest was the writing, because there isn't much time to write two essays.

A good score just depends on where you want to go to grad school. Go to the school's website and see if you can figure out the average score of their incoming students. Or call up the admissions office and ask.

    Good luck!

  2. Depends on what ur good at.  I sucked on the GRE's math section because I suck at math, but the Verbal section i did fine on, simply because that's where I shine.  You can still brush up on information and use GRE study guides from Kaplan or Barron study books.  Luckily, the school I decided to attend didn't require a GRE!
