GZ-HD7 or HG10?

I want to buy a high defanition camcorder but ppl say that the HG10 is verry good and the gz-hd7 is not as good (even though I think its better)

When I was at the store comparing the two the GZ-HD7 had MUCH more smoother frame rate (LCD) rather then the choppy frame rate on the hg10

Please recomend one of the two. or A camcorder that is high defanition with hard driver.

  1. I bought the HD7.

JVC have more experience than anyone else in HDD (the HG10 is Canon's first attempt at HDD); JVC record in full HD (HG10 records 1,440 x 1,080 at best); JVC CMOS sensors are true 16:9; Canon are 4:3.

So, if you want a cheap, untested, low spec camcorder buy the Canon.

If you can live with a few niggles buy the JVC: -

OIS is not so good - a tripod solves the problem

Still image quality is not brilliant - use a stills camera for still images

Mics are not too efficient - use an external mic if you want real good sound ... but that applies to all camcorders

So, in case you've not guessed, I'd opt for the JVC and enjoy!
