i am 13 and i want to start a garden with corn and beans i live in the south so you no it would be a good area for a garden but how would i build it

Find out what grows best in your climate first.  Then go off of there.  Any kind of gardneing center will be able to help you with that and how to treat the soil, watering needs, ect.

Since you live in the south you may be able to plant beans for a fall crop. Think about starting your garden in the spring after the threat of frost is over.

Plant bean seed with seeds 3 to 4 inches apart in rows 12" apart. Varieties to plant "Blue Lake", "Top Crop" or "Contender".  

In late February you can start your own tomato plants from seed of different varieties that ripen a different times. . Set out your plants after the threat of frost has passed.  Plant a few hills of cucumbers then you can make bread and butter pickles. And remember to set out 3 or 4 pepper plants for stuffed green peppers.

What a great summer project!

If you live in the country, remember to fence around your garden to keep out deer.  Also, you can plant gophur purge (a small plant) that will keep out gophurs naturally, without poisons.

Ask your local nursery for tips on organic gardening, so your produce will be healthier for your family.

Growing a garden is fun!

Besides all the things others have said here, I can't overstate how important it is to research EVERYTHING.  Talk to gardeners, look up a garden club, ask at garden centers, even pay a visit to your county extension office.  Learn about your regional climate, your soil conditions and the local pests.

Corn and beans will grow well together.  I have bean poles trellising up my sweet corn right now, with winter butternet squash on one side.  Tomatoes are also easy to grow.

But do all your research first.  Do your testing, then map out your garden layout.  The best helpers for you will be other gardeners in your town as they know what best grows in your area.

You need an area clear of grass and weeds.  You can remove the grass and weeds or kill them off with a weed killer - takes a couple weeks.  Then you need to loosen up and turn the soil with a shovel and break up any big chunks so plants roots can grow.  Smooth it all out with a rake and plant your seeds according to the directions on the package as to distance apart and depth.  Keep the soil moist until the seeds sprout.  Remove weeds when they grow.  

Beans are probably ok to start this time of year but it may be too late for corn.  Ask someone in your area - maybe your season is long enough there.
