Gary lockett?

Question

kelly pavlik is making his first title defence against gary lockett i don't know anything about this guy other than hes from whales and that he is trained by enzo calzaghe ( joe calzaghes father) correct?

it says on boxrec.com that gary lockett has a reach of only 28 inches?!! http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=14966&cat=boxer

that must be a mistake because it says kelly pavliks reach is 75 inches according to box rec http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=15844&cat=boxer

someone know if box rec made a mistake?

it can be measured differently  like whole wingspan and thats where you get the large numbers like 78 inches  or it can be measured by excluding the back and measuring just one arm from the shoulder like a punch     its possible that its a mistake because 28 seems short even for just one arm

Locketts a pretty good fighter and has held the WBU title for what its worth. He has fought alot of good british/ european fighters but this will be a big step up in class for him, but probably a step to far though. His reach of 28 inches is about right if taken from his shoulder to his hand.

I don't really know all that much about him either other than what you said, and that he is one of Pavlik's mandatory challengers.  I would have liked to see Pavlik face someone who is in the true top 10 rankings, but at least he's getting a mandatory out of the way.  His reach was measured from the armpit to the end of the fist, Pavlik's was most likely his wingspan (fist to fist, including chest)
