  1. We need to boycott 1 major gas company for 1 month, don't buy gas or anything from there place for 30 days..

  2. everyone forget one little item the gas we buy from the gas station is not owned by that gas station owner they have to

BUY the gas from the refinery themseleves  (a lot of are

    independelty owned

and it never works  because we will need gas eventally

  3. Don't believe everything you read.

Part of the reason, some people that have to drive to work and are on a shoestring budget only buy $5 worth of gas a day.

Another part of the reason is some people, in family situations don't know how much gas they're going to find in the car when they start the engine to go to work. (Kids borrowed it, spouse forgot to fill it.)

And another part of the reason is that we often pay more for immediate convenience rather than deprive ourselves. The silliest example I've yet to run across was a pilot who taxiied all the way across the airport to top off his plane the day before the "boycott," about ten years ago.

You'd basically spike the system one day, allow it to recover the next, and then go back to status quo. That's not really going to bother anyone in OPEC.

When I need gas, I need gas, that's really all there is to it. I still haven't made it through the great American Smokeout.

That's why we don't do it, haven't done it, and probably aren't going to in the forseeable future.

  4. One day wouldn't help. People would just buy more the day before, or the day after.

It has to be over a period of time to boycott gas. I would seriously do it if a lot of people were serious about it too.

  5. No this would not work.

You would buy the gas you needed before and after that day. The time frame would work better if it were a month.

Just reduce driving yourself. Change your style of driving to where you accelerate slowly and when you see a redlight or stop sign take your foot of the gas and coast a little before applying the brakes.
