http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivan-c17215 Gazidis has gone on to insist that Arsene Wenger is not afraid of spending money in  the transfer window, but claimed that the manager always wanted to make a move for the right players.
The Gunners manager has time and time against been criticised for his lack of spending in the summer transfer window, with many believing that this has cost the team in the past.
However, Gazidis has gone on to insist that the manager almost always thinks of a number of reasons before opting not to move for a player, since he doesn’t want to end up making a bad move.
According to the chief executive, the manager is always looking out for the club, despite him getting a lot of stick from the fans over his actions.
When talking about Wenger, and his actions in the transfer window, Gazidis is reported to have said: “I don't think Arsene is conservative, I think he is extraordinarily brave. I think he does things others don't do and sees things others don't see"

"Arsene is not fixed on the price of a player in assessing a player's value, he will look with equal weight at a young player who is coming through the Arsenal academy and a player that might be available with a very hefty price tag from overseas.”

"He is not afraid to spend money when he believes in a player and sees a player he thinks can kick us forward but he is not obsessed with the security that a big transfer fee might give him."
At the same time, Gazidis feels that the North London club are finally on the verge of ending their seven year trophy drought.
This season, the club is looking way better than it has in recent years, and should all things go according to Wenger’s plans, then the manager could help his side make it to the finals of one or two competitions.
Should that happen, the team is bound to end up claiming at least one trophy this season, which would see them put an end to their barren run and move forward from here on.
