Generation names?

Question

I was born in 1974. I know of the baby boomer generation and I've heard of the generation gen X, and I also heard of the newest generation; the millenials. What generation am I? Am I gen X?

Generation X is a term used to describe generations in many countries around the world born from 1965 to around 1982.

In the U.S. Gen X was originally referred as the "baby bust" generation because of the small number of births following the baby boom.
