Georgia-Russia dispute?

I'm relatively new to this Georgian/Russian problem. I knew something was going on for a while, but from watching recent news reports, it has recently and quickly escalated. Last i heard was that Russian forces were building up on the border. So basically, what could happen? Will russia attack? I've seen the Georgian military, and theydefiantlyy give them one h**l of figfht. On the other hand, i just saw Putin at the Beijing olympic opening ceremony, would it happen whilst China does'nt wanttheh attention of the world eyes taken elsewhere. Just a thought.

What do you think will happen next? How will we NATO respond?

thoughts and views, thankyou.

  1. Russia has already attacked. 1000 people are already dead and Georgia is redeploying its 1000 troops in Iraq back home.

  2. U.S. has been involved in Georgia for awhile now, and we support Georgia's actions to fight the seperatists and reclaim territory.  We do have advisors currently in Georgia.  I believe in a conflict (which is doubtful, despite today's escalation) that we will support Georgia against Russia in terms of material and weapons.

  3. This has all just happened today mostly. Russians had been bringing troops to Georgians borders over the past couple of months. This is a provoked fight, Russia wanted this to happen. Go on CNN and click Videos, try to find Georgias Presidents interview with CNN. It explains everything.

We need to tell Russia to gtfo right now.

Fighting started about august 1st. Today Russia and Georgia clashed and bombed each other in South Ossetia as well as deep inside Georgia.

  4. Russia is a terrible aggressor. They do everything to destroy Georgia and punish them for their pro-western course. This is all to stop it from joining NATO because they believe Georgia and other ex-ussr countries still "belong" to them. This is all happening in XXI century. That is what European appeasement brings.
