Georgian/Russian conflict? ?

So the conflict has apparently risen to a new level. Georgia and Russia agreed to a cease-fire that was backed up by the U.S. and France yesterday. But now, reports have come in that Russia is still moving forward, and not following the cease fire rule that they had originally agreed to. If this keeps going and escalates, what are the possibilities of America joining to fight Russia?

  1. I don't see the US getting into a shooting war with Russia, but I can Imagine a a scenario where the  US and EU country's supply massive aid of all kinds, including the latest anti tank and anti aircraft missile technology, even if it was to have them tried out in Field conditions. the best way to prove any new equipment is to let some one else get killed trying it out.

  2. Essentially we already have. Naval ships are headed that way to bring in humanitarian supplies. If they come under fire, as Georgian ships have, it would undoubtedly be a tense situation. I don't predict either side wants a full fledged war, but I would predict a bloody nose or two.

  3. Too bad we have three and a half month to deal with this problem. If the election end today I bet you US won't fight this Georgia WAr at all. my POINT IS REPUBLICAN PLANNED THIS CONFLICT ALL ALONG. We (USA) might send the AIDS to escalate the possibility of pick up the fight with Russian (If Russians stopped the aid worker or killed them we will have our fight with them)

  4. Though George Bush's stupidity seems to know no bounds, I think even he may draw the line at this one.  Between Iraq, Afghanistan, and the potential for war with Iran, the U.S. forces are already spread too thin.  Besides, the U.S. has no business castigating Russia.  They've already done the same thing for the same reason--control of access to huge oil and gas reserves.

  5. maybe, just maybe if we light up the sky over iran;  take out some of that russian nuclear tech by tehran;   sic isreal on russia; nuke the

outlaw border region in pakistan (as revenge for wtc fiasco; -all before the end of the olympics-- the world would, indeed, be a  better place.

  6. no, American citizens will not back this government into another war that we have nothing to do with and don't need i mean we already are in a pointless war no one wants to be in so why do we need another one. if bush joins he is just creating problems that the next president doesn't want to deal with and has nothing to do with . we try to be superheroes all the time but just end up f-ing our own country over. we have to get this idiot out of office.

  7. Slim to nil. Our military is already overtaxed. Convenient that. It's almost like Russia planned it that way
