  1. Find a decent backboard [or side of a building] and a flat ground surface of at least 15 yards deep... usually you'll find this setting at your neighborhood elementary school.

Measure and draw the height of the net [30"] across the backboard wall. Practice your ground strokes and drives --both forehand and backhand-- by striking ONLY INCHES ABOVE the net line... but not more than 12-18 inches above it.

Also, practice hitting your big first serves by skimming the top of the net consistently.

These drills will keep you busy and will definitely help improve your game until you find someone who's better than you to play with.

    Have fun!

  2. if you have thave the nintendo wii use that its great and it improves you greatly within a few days

  3. it's good to see someone eager to practice tennis by themselves.

    :D

    well

if you have a wall you could have a hit on that!

    because the wall is unbeatable.

who knows you could play like the wall after that.

    lol

or you could buy one of those poles you stick into the ground and it has a tennis ball on a string and you just hit it and it swings back to you.

or you could do shadow swings in your house.

but that won't help A LOT...

    or...

you could get a nintendo wii.

    lol

remember to also work on your footwork, and stretch so you can be more flexible on certain strokes when you get out on court.

    hope that helps you.

  4. You can exercise to get yourself fit. You stretch to warm up. Go to the park and serve some serves. Mostly getting fit is the best way to go.

  5. hit it aginst a wall

  6. Don't worry about the shot making part of the thing. That can come when practising with your coach or whatever. At home, you can concentrate on the fitness aspect. I know, I know, nobody likes building fitness. I know I don't, but it is crucial, especially for a game like tennis.

I would recommend a twenty minute jog every day, ( you don't have to have a non-stop twenty minute jog. you can walk in between If you can, then that's fine). Then find an area such as your back garden and practice movements, such as side to side. Shadow practice with an invisible opponent, but not to hit the ball. Practise running after a forehand or a back hand. Do that and then practise running in for drop shots and then back pedalling. For this, could have someone drop the ball say five metres away from you on the concrete and you running there.

Trust me on this, if you have good fitness and endurance, it will help you win key matches. Almost everyone after training can hit good forehands etc. but how many can keep that level of quality up the whole match. When you start getting tired, you make silly mistakes and it could cost you the match.

Well, hope it helped and good luck on your tennis.

  7. Yep....we used to hit against walls all of the time.  It will make you stronger and quicker.
