Im thinking about getting a pool table this year, but I don't really know much about it. All i know is that i don't want to spend too much money (about $800). I want a decent table, i really dont need anything fancy. so can you guys help me figure out what kind of table would be best for an average family game room?

  1. You'll have a really hard time finding a 'decent' table for $800. Your only option on that kind of budget would be a used table someone is desperate to get rid of. Check the classifieds in the paper and on craigslist, maybe you'll get lucky.

EDIT: Walmart tables are NOT decent for any price. They do not even use real slate, which makes them basically a kiddy toy that will fall apart before long.

  2. Matt's right  Whatever you do dont buy a POS from wal-mart you may find a good bar box for $800 but unless you really fall into a deal dont count on much more Why not just feed piggy for a while longer and get at least a decent table they will last for years

  3. get a pool table from walmart they usually sell them around christmas time and they run about $300.00 plus tax and they are very good tables for their price I would get one of them to start out with and win you get better get a brunswick after a couple of years of practice.
