I will be flying into Paris in September and staying in Limoges. I am trying to go the least expensive route (avoiding rental cars). Is there a bus or train?

  1. the train will be the least expensive if you're traveling alone because of the price of gas in france and tolls on the highway.  you can estimate the cost on mappy.fr driving depending on the type of vehicle you plan to drive.  you can find out how much a train ticket will cost on voyages-sncf.com.  I don't even know of a bus system in France everyone takes the train (although when I once went on a route that was in the mountains and the track had a problem the SNCF did get us a bus).

  2. I agree with the previous poster: your best bet is to take the train. From Paris to Limoges, you'd be leaving from Montparnasse Station (Gare Montparnasse). The métro station to get to that station is called Montparnasse - Bienvenüe (reachable via lines 4, 6, 12, and 13).
