Gingko biloba for high altitude illness?

I take acetazolamide to prevent high altitude illness (had mild case of HAPE once and don't want it again).

Does adding gingko biloba add anything?

I'll be sleeping at 9,000feet and skiing between 12,000-10,000 feet.

I have a friend that used ginkgo in Peru on a trek and it helped her out.

I would use the diamox /acetazolomide only as a sleep aid - it will help regulate your breathing and consequently your oxygen usage during the night.  Also - take it easy the first few days at altitude and lay off the partying (you didn't say that you did this, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway).  Also - drink a lot (of water).

When I was in Peru I took coca leaves, or coca candies, and it was really a good thing to prevent altitude illness.
