Question:

Glass piper souvenir?

My wife and I have just returned from a 12 day touring (car) holiday of Scotland, whilst we were in Edinburgh we saw a souvenir shop selling figurines of Scottish pipers made from glass, the shop was shut and we did not get a chance to call back before heading off north. The shop was I believe in the esplanade area of the castle, I have trawled the internet but can find no stockists of Scottish glass pipers, the figure stands about 4 or 5 inches high and depicts the piper wearing a bearskin type hat and not one of the flat type of hats. If any one knows a shop I can contact to order one of these My Wife and I would be extremely grateful or even a lead to a website would help. Thanks.

  4. A large percentage of the souvenir shops are owned by the Gold Brothers in Edinburgh. I can't see the item you describe on their site, they do have a store in that area, but there are others in that area too.

Having dealt with these guys a number of times, I'll bet they would be able to get it for you though!
