Go Kart Centrifugal Clutch Question.

Hi, I bought a go kart and it wont even go in dirt. is it because it has a centrifugal clutch? and it has 8 hp . if you think thats the problem could you explain to me how to take the clutch off and ill just put a sprocket. Thanks

Does the clutch not grab at all? Centrifugal clutches can wear out, and need to be replaced if they no longer grab.

when you say it wont go, do you mean that you can put the gas pedal all the way down and the motor will just bog down? try gradually pushing on the pedal, very slowly. have someone push you to get going, and then see if the cart will go under it's own power.
