  1. You could try joining a team or club. The way I met new people when I started highschool was during class when we had to work in groups.  That's a good way to make friends. Just have fun and be yourself. I'm sure there are going to be other new students in the same position as you are. =]]

  2. You should def get involved in some activities and try to be more proactive. I did band freshmen year and it helped me to meet my friends for school. Also, it'll become easier to judge who would be a good friend if you try to meet a lot of new people.

  3. i was shy too but i joined a whole bunch of clubs, especially speech and debate and i was able to make friends.

  4. You really shouldn't worry about it there will be lots of people in the same situation as you and you will settle in really quickly as I'm sure the teachers and other students will be very helpful.

Before you go though you could use sites such as bebo or myspace to get chatting to people going to the same school!

Another way to make friends quickly is to join cubs at school which you have an interest in, this way you will have things and common ad its a good way to socialise!

anyway I'm sure everything will be fine and i hope this has helped!
