  1. Golf Digest has some good tips as does Golf Mag, however the columns in Golf Digest has much better columns both in content and in humor.

  2. If you are looking for instruction on how to play the game, neither magazine will do you much good. There is just too much information, much of it contradictory. If you are looking for an occasional tip, the staff of Digest has the better articles and Butch Harmon has the best.

  3. Golf Digest. It gives you some really good tips and loads of information regarding all areas of golf.

    Have a good one...

  4. Both.

  5. I subscribe to both and have so for years. They're both great mags but I have to give the edge to Digest. Several years ago, it was no contest, with Digest the clear winner, but over the past 2 years, Golf has really gotten a lot better. I enjoy the articles in Digest as they're a little meatier and I enjoy Tiger's exclusive instruction in Digest. Also, Digest's Annual Equipment Issue is waaaaay better and more in-depth than Golf's. If you're a fan of the sport, you'll like both for sure, but I've gotta throw in my 2 cents for Digest. Enjoy!

  6. I too get both magazines, i used up my airline miles on magazines. But digest is way way way better than golf magazine. It has exclusive interviews from Tiger, it features the new equipment months before it comes out, and it has more tips than golf magazine. However, golf magazine comes more frequently than Golf Digest and it has exclusive information regarding titleist products. I get both because i love golf and i cant get enough of it. But if u had to pick 1 pick digest.

  7. I have a subscription to Golf Magazine, and I love it. I read Golf Digest on the side and I occasionally read Golf Tips.

Golf Digest seems to be too uppity for me, but getting Tiger Tips is pretty nice. They do have the top 50 teachers write articles (not all 50 in every month) but usually the same ones, and they seem to assume we're all the same person.

Golf Tips is alright, but sometimes the graphics that correspond to the article can be confusing or too busy. Their product preview articles are very intriguing, though.

Golf Magazine is my fav for all kinds of reasons, and especially this one: David Feherty. He is the funniest person in golf, and his back page article is always worth reading. The downside is, you'll never see an article by Tiger, Annika, or Butch Harmon (but you can read instructional articles about them... especially Tiger), cause they only write for Golf Digest. But there are still plenty of things to get your interest, and personally, I feel their instruction is more comprehensive. My favs are Brady Riggs, Robert Baker and Anne Caine, but there are many more that do just as well. The "extra" stuff is also worth reading, like their in-depth looks at the Major venues.

Hope this helps, and welcome to the game!

  8. Do yourself a favor and don't subscribe to either.  Take the $14.95 or whatever it is and spend the money at the driving range practicing.  Both magazines are full of tips that will mess up your game for years.  My game stagnated for about five years while I read all the dreck in those magazines, once I gave them up I was able to get back to sound fundamentals and lower my handicap.  The problem is no two golf swings are alike, and without seeing your swing, body type etc, there is no way an anonymous tip will help you.
