Is 15 a good age to start golfing? Are there any websites for cheap clubs if so can you list them?

Don't listen to the disillusioned golfer.  I started much later than you and enjoy playing as often as I can.  As far as websites for clubs, try these:

My sister is 15 and she just started, and she made the golf team. You can start to golf at whatever age you want... but how good you want to be depends on how hard you want to try. My whole life is golf, and I am 17, I play varsity on the girls team and I'm the manager of the guys team. When I started, I wanted to play so bad, I was 10, and I was so excited... I got clubs and I was set. I feel in love with the game and everything else just came. My sister wanted to play but she wasn't crazy about it. She knew she would make the team, since I am the head player and so she didn't really care. She took lessons but didn't practice. She was mad because she didn't get new clubs, and I had just gotten shipped new clubs from my uncle who is a pro golfer. My dad told her she had to show dedication first. Then she started playing a lot, and she fell in love with the game. She is still using the used clubs and scores in the mid 80s.

So, in other words... you are at a great age to start and you can achieve great things if you show the dedication and practice.

by the age of 15 you should be  scratch already.so forget about making money.join a club with a good junior section and get proper lessons.it will save you a lot of back pain in later life.

Just about any age is good for starting to play golf.  As long as you enjoy the game, you can play it the rest of your life.  There are seveal places to go for fair priced clubs ebay has several good starter sets for cheap as do tgw.com, golfsmith, golfgalaxy, mastergrip has very well built clubs for cheap compared to name brands.  Also I would suggest fidning a driving range that has rental clubs that you try out and swing a bit to get a feel for how to swing at the little ball, it can be alot harder than what it looks.  Also try looking for an instructor or clinic to help you get started the right way.

Also, local sporting good stores like Big 5 if on the west coast, or chicks/***** on east coast.  I started learning at 13, now im 22, and im a +0.7index.  I played for a couple of different colleges.  The biggest thing about golf is how much time you wanna put into it.  If you practice alot, then you will get better quickly.  If you don't practice and you just go hack it around, then you will get better, but much slower.  Work on short game things.

Some cheap club sets are probably orlimar, ping (older models), and maybe some older callaway models.  your best bet might be to get a good set used.  Usually the good used sets are much better quality compared to the new, terrible cheap sets.

u can be as good as u want at golf.  If u want good golf clubs, u can probably go to work at a golf course.  u get a  percent off of lots of stuff.   then i would talk to a Cert pga pro and get measure ments what fits u.  I have really long arms and am 5 10. i differ in club length than mi buddy who is the same height.  he need s longer.   That would be first.  if u want to be good.  Look i have a 4.5 handicapp.  havent played for more than 5years.  i use dicount shopko clubs cause i can fit my self.  Second  U can get name Brand a couple years old .  i got my whole set for under 100.  Ebay is ok but get fit first!  I wouldnt wear a tight tshirt when i golf.  I would wear something appropriate to swing evenly.  lee

You can always give him some golf video tutorial between the practical training. Its a easy and fast way to understand the technique.
