All skill levels can play a match against one another thanks to the handicap system.  You can play your entire life and you can play alone.  Opps, the same is true of bowling.

You play against yourself.  The goal everytime you hit the course is to play a better round than the last time.  Plus, it's one of the few "recognized" sports that you can drink while playing! :)

It's played with the most integrity.  Don't believe me; in every other sport, there is someone to call fouls and asses penalties.  In golf, you call infractions on yourself and asses your own penalties.  When's the last time an NFL wide receiver walked over to the ref and said "I didn't actually catch that ball, it looked like I did, but it hit the ground.  It's 4th and 10"?  NEVER!
