Good Climbing near Oceanside?

Where is a good place to climb outdoors near Oceanside, California?

Unfortunately, the quality of rock in the vincinity of Oceanside is poor, making any visible rock outcrops unsuitable for climbing (it's too crumbly and loose).  San Diego County is blessed with a wide range of excellent and established climbing areas, and you can check out rockclimbing.com (see link) for a good list of those places. But they all tend to be south of Oceanside.  On the north side of Oceanside, there's Ortega Falls up Highway 84, but that is a long ways to go for a such a small (but very nice) climbing spot.

As you already know, Camp Pendleton, along with any potential climbing spots, is off limits to the public.  Which is a shame because I believe that there are some good spots along the beach.

Beruit, Vista/Oceanside.  Lots of granite; great bouldering @VHB rock. I believe it may just be bouldering right there, but if I'm not mistaken there is some climbing in the area. Haven't been there in YEARS. :) Hope that helps.
