Essentially Amsterdam is very expensive to live in, but there are of course cheaper ands more expensive areas, but you do get what you pay for in terms of if ot's cheap it will not be the nicest area of Amsterdam to live in

Checking expat sites like the one above and http://www.expatica.com/nl/main.html has the advantage of being in English (same as there are lots of agencies which appeal to the expat market) but they are generally also more expensive as well!  Expats usually get paid good salaries and can afford high priced rentals

So you can also google agencies (here is the link to the yellow pages in English http://yellowpages.goudengids.nl/display... but you can also look at sites by yourself such as Funda which also offering houses for sale and to a lesser degree rental accomodation http://www.funda.nl/WoningAanbod/Huur/De...  Huur is "rent"   Then on the right hand side click the options:

- "Gemeubileerd" which means furnished

- "Appartement"- meaning apartment (of course!)

- "Aantal kamers" means how many rooms which you can choose if you want

- "Woonoppervlakte"- means living space in square meters

Where exactly IS Amsterdam? I thought it was somewhere in Europe, but there's a lot of American bands with songs called "Amsterdam". That could just be because of touring though, I dunno.
