  1. Real marine speakers have a plastic cone instead of paper which hold up much better outdoors.

  2. Humans can't hear 21 kHz, so it doesn't matter.

  3. The cheap way to do it is to buy a pair of good auto speakers and bag them with a clear plastic bag after wiring them. They will sound just as good.  This will waterproof them and they will last a long time and they will sound good, and cost half the price of marine speaker.

  4. Try this website.

  5. The specs sound OK. Just remember that these speakers are water RESISTANT, not water PROOF. Do not mount them where the wind can blow water into them, as the pressure will force the water inside and ruin them. Just mount them under cover.

The frequency response of 55 Hz is the low frequency limit, and the 21K Hz is the upper frequency limit. This is a good range for what you are doing.

    Regards,

    Dan

  6. They probably wouldn't work too bad, but you'd have to externally mount them, meaning someone can walk or trip on them, stub a foot, etc. so they might not be the greatest things to use. Pioneer actually makes some great marine speakers, but I have 4 Kenwood 4-way 6x9's (300 watts max), 2 Kenwood 3 way 6 1/2's, and two Kenwood 10" subs with an Infinity marine amplifier, and those are all non-marine speakers...I just make sure to cover the boat when I'm not using it...it's been like that for three years and I haven't had any issues.
