Question:

Good entry level DSLRS?

I'm looking for a good entry level digital SLR which will give me clear, colourful shoots without emptying my bank account. I'm thinking $500 and under. Not thinking about buying a different lens yet.

I'm looking for a high optical zoom.

  1. You won't be able to get a high optical zoom on a dSLR for <$500. Kit lenses in that price range are 18-55mm.

I'd recommend a Nikon D40. It costs about $450 new, and a 55-200mm VR lens is about $250.

  2. If you are a bit flexible on your budget, then I would suggest Nikon D40, even better D 60, or canon Xti, Xsi models.

Regarding lens, you may not get a zoom lens and a camera within your budget. If you are not an experienced photographer, you should be considering a zoom lens with IS(image stabilization).

  3. Sony Alpha A200K 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera Kit with Super SteadyShot Image Stabilization with 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens

    Price : $499.99

  4. Canon digital rebels are nice entry level dslrs. I had one a few years ago and if you buy the kit it comes with a lens that's not too bad.

  5. Look in Amazon.com for entry level DSLRs in that price range, you might find one with an 18-55 and 55-200 kit lens around that price range.
