how to be a good hacker what shall i read or study? thanks and hope for all the best of luck.

Think about, what you want to hack.

Some hackers create solutions. For example, Internet Explorer doesn't treat web designs the same as other browsers. "Hacks" have been created to enable web designers to create designs that are displayed the same way in ALL browsers INCLUDING Internet Explorer. That's a solution.

Some hackers create problems. You want to write a virus? Learn the language in which the program, or system, for which you want to write the virus is written!

You want to write a password-breaker? Learn math: probability solvers, decryption algorythms, etc.

First of all you should have a hacker attitude towards hacking. Means always trying  alternate method for a purpose.

Second, have command on some good programming languages like C.

Third, read forum articles on various topics of hacking. Reading is learning.

Fourth - Solve hacking challenges on various sites.

If you reach to step 4 , you are on the way a great hacker paves.
