Good on the ACT writing portion??

hey guys..i took the ACT test with the writing portion, and i got a 10 on the writing portion (outta 12)..is that considered good?? i feel like it's a good score, but idk for sure? what do u guys think? is a 10 good? adverage? what?

That's quite good (If I recall correctly, I got an 11). It's graded by two scorers, who each give you a score from 1-6 and then add them together.. Each judge gave you a 5, so your writing was really one step away from being exemplary (don't ask me how I got 11).

The ACT writing section is still optional, colleges won't look on it as favorably as a good score on the SAT writing section (which is required), which is scored as a section with some multiple choice questions out of 800, with a writing subscore of 2-12 like the ACT.

10 is pretty good. average is probably about 8
