  1. used to be a great Japanese steakhouse called Sumo's there.  Not sure if it still is or not but if it is, get the cook named Paul (Jun is his real Japanese name).  He's great.

  2. If it's Birmingham UK, try the Bucklemakers in St Pauls Square or any of the restaurants in the Mailbox

  3. Yeah, loads.

    Come and see!

  4. Tons. Seriously.

For example, "Highlands Bar & Grill" was named one of the top five restaurants in the country by Gourmet magazine. There are quite a large number of good restaurants there besides Highland as well, including Ocean, Bombay, Bottega, Hot & Hot Fish Club, Mauby's, G, etc. etc.

The reason Birmingham is doing so well is that there is a very strong culinary program at one of the local schools, so you're finding surprisingly good bistros all over. The last thing you need to do in Birmingham is to eat at some boring chain.

  5. Well... in Birmingham Alabama there is P.F. Changs
