Good vertical?

What is a good vertical for a volleyball player?

Mine is 25 inches last time I was tested is that good, because some got higher then me and some got lower on my team.

like the previous answer said, it depends on your height. but honestly, don't get caught up in the vertical thing. what you have is sufficient if you're mid-5 ft. tall. i'm 6'1" and had a 44" vert. this was great during warm-ups to "psych" out the opponents while hitting straight down spikes and making the ball hit the rafters after the bounce. but as you know, this is useless during a game. at higher level ball, it is more important to be tall and have an ok vert. this takes less time to execute the play 'cause it takes me more time to drift in than a tall guy, and you don't telegraph as much. work on what you have and play smart as a hitter.

the answer to your 2nd Q: plyometrics. that's how i got mine! look up some workouts online, and there are also products out there that help. you are gonna have to "want it" 'cause it's hard work, but well worth it when everyone's jaw drops while watching you SKY!

Depends.  a good Vertical for a girl would be around 24-28 inches.  A great Vertical for a girl would be 32-34 inches

For a guy a good Vertical would be around 30-34 inches

while a great Vertical would be around 38-42 inches

This is not a hieght thing thou.  If your short you need a better vertical then someone is tall.  To be a good effective hitter you need to be at least Arm high over the net (meaning your entire arm is above the net) to be a good hitter.  If not your going to be a libero or a setter.  I am 6 foot and in college I had a 36 inch vertical and I was all american libero for 2 years in a ROW.  (thats because the hitters are normally 6-5 to 6-7 with a 30 inch Vertical)  Meaning even thou I jump higher they still hit higher then what I can block.  And Vise Versa they black higher then I can hit

Plyometrics is a great way to increase your quickness, agilitly, and vertical leap.  If you're looking for a specific system then I know that the Air Alert program works wonders.  Its hard work but it pays off.

depends on your height really, if you were about 5-6 ft tall that would be a nice vertical, im about 5'3 and have about a 2 ft vertical and i can spike the ball
