Gordon Ramsay and Chefs?

Been watching Gordon Ramsay's shows for some time. And it makes me wonder whether all (or most) chefs in real life are as brutal and lambasting like him?

I have worked in and around kitchens for a long time and my general observation is that when the head chefs start getting stressed then they are all abit ramsey-esque

i am a chef and let me tell you i have worked with some real idiots who deserve to be yelled at , and to be quite honest i really dont blame gordon for yelling at them.some chefs really try your pateince,and you really wonder what the h**l they are doing there in the first place.so good on gordon and keep going.

I hope not!!! It's horrible if people talk to their employees that way. No restaurant in the world is worth to make people cry, just because the food isn't ready. Those chefs have power and insecurity issues, if you ask me.

I don't want to know how they talk to their wives and children. "Lie on that bed now, woman, I need to be served!!!" Naw, that's not the way people should communicate with each other.

No, you can get the job done alot better without the rudeness and arrogance,especially when you know your crew. Urgency must of course be maintained,as well as timing and presentation,but you don't have to carry on like the hooligan Ramsay is.Hes just a bully with media interest.I know a few chefs who would love to slice and dice him in a cook off,but I don't know if you've noticed,the crews he uses don't have much in the way of intestinal fortitude.This is of course deliberate.One couldn't have galloping Gordon bashed on telly.You can only dream about it. Hes done more harm to the trade than good that's for sure..What makes good television is questionable indeed..

it think they are because they need to have the food perfect because people can get sick if it is made wrong and they dont want that
