1. Explain this comment:

Much of the thought upon which present-day democratic government rests began as a challenge to the theory of the divine rights of kings.

2. Explain how the language of the Preamble reflects the idea od the social contract.

-----It's not that I don't want to do it. I really don't understand this two questions. Please help me out. Thank you in advance.

  1. 1.  Well the Divine Right of Kings refers to the belief that a person was chosen as King or ruler by God.  So to question the King and his rulings would be like questioning God himself.  Present-day government was all about challenging this notion.  

    2.  The preamble opens with "We the People of the United States of America, in order to form a more perfect union".  The use of the term "we" implies that more than one person, hence a society are coming together to put this Constitution together.  It then follows "establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence,promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity".  Here they are establishing the contract part.
