Grand am Gt surround sound system?

what is the grand am gt's sound system like (how many speakers how many watts is the sound clear and crisp?) i will be getting a 2 door grand am gt either a 2000-2003 model. anyone with personal experience would be great.

I have a grand am gt myself. It comes standard with the Monsoon sound system. It has eight speakers and it is 200 watts. There are tweeters in the A-pillars, 4"x6" speakers in the front doors, and 6"x9"s in the rear deck. You may be thinking thats only 6 speakers but the 6"x9"s are actually 2-way coaxials and the factory I suppose considers that two more speakers. The factory amp is behind the carpet on the left side of the trunk. I have to say that it is one of the best factory systems that isn't a popular name brand. It has great bass for just speakers and having tweeters and so many speakers, the high are pretty clear as well. I think it is a great factory sound system.

If you plan on replacing the speakers and not changing the headunit, all the speakers are 2 ohms stock, so replace them with a 2 ohm speaker for the best results. Infinity carries 2 ohm speakers. I have them all replaced in my car with Infinities.
