  1. No. There are experiments designed to detect them, but if what we know about the waves is correct, then they are not sufficiently sensitive and won't be for many years.


  2. Joe Weber claimed to have detected gravitational radiation back in the 60's but was unable to re-produce the measurements and no one else was able to either.  New experiments are coming online to measure this phenomenon.
