Great places to visit in Canada??

Hi all

My family and I are going to visit Canada for the first time this upcoming weekend. (Can't wait since i'm currently busy with my Econ and Calculus class). We're from Los Angeles.

So, how long is the driving journey from LA to the nearest city in Canada (Vancouver,isn't it?).Any suggestion on where should we stop to sleep?

What are some best places to visit there?

We are going to spend at most a week for this trip.

**Oh yes, we prefer places that are closer to the border, I mean, not like all the way to the northern part of Canada.

Takethe ferry across to VancouverIsland....fromVicotria..goupthe westcoast toSooke andbeyond..thenbackdowntoVictoria....nor... Nanaimo upabitthenacrossthroughPortAlberni to Tofino...

On yourreturn takethe ferry from Nanaimo toWestVancouver...there isalso atrain ridethat you can take..thinkitsfromNorth Van aswell...uptoSquamish (thetrain isanold one..itsneat) then have lunch in Squamish then return on asmallcruiseboat...takesafullday...

or drive upto Whistler... checkthough... forconstruction etc..they are getting ready for the 2010 winterOlympics..

Depends on what you are looking foraswell....beaches..driving..etc...

Vancouver is the closest, and Victoria (which is on an island just east of Vancouver) is beautiful this time of year.  Driving to the mountains is always beautiful too, and there are really nice fields in the Okanagan valley.  Pretty much all of BC is beautiful and worth looking at.
