Here's one from left field. Slot Wally into lock, move Johns to five-eighth and put Sterling into the number seven. Wal played lock before he played 5/8. Drop Price. He ran hot & cold and was a thug.

I can live with the backline but the forwards and bench would change.

Beetson was a prop - and would best be played in his position. So that means dropping Webke to the bench (I chose Lazarus over Webke just due to the fact Premiership winner in 3 different clubs - plus none of the clubs - Canberra, Broncos or Melbourne had won a premiership before he came along). So take out Billy Can who is a player i have never heard of - except to cook tea in - and put Webke on the bench.

Move Norm Proven to second row in place of Beetson being moved up.

Drop Ray Price for one of the immortals - John Raper.

Ron Coote on the bench instead of Steve Roach (already have Burge and Webke as props on the bench - so need a lock, second row).

Either Lockyer as the utility back on the bench - as he has proven he was the best in the world in two positions at the times he played them. Or Bob Fulton - obviously great 5/8 - some say better than Lewis and an astute rugby league brain.
