  1. I prefer any country more than Greece.

  2. Holland, I can speak the language.  Greek is all greek to me.  Greece has got better weather, though. I also know that travel from Holland and England, is of the cheapest and the most varied destinations.

    Peace.

  3. holland is great but i haven been to greece

  4. Greece for a holiday, but Holland to live.

  5. i am greekamerican and i prefer greece. i have been living here for 2 years now

  6. Even if Holland is richer than Greece, I'm sure that life in Greece is much more exciting and sweeter...

  7. greece

  8. It seems that I have taken the opposite route than you are doing now. For exactly the same reasons! I found Netherlands to be a very inefficient country, salaries are not that great with respect to the cost of living and people are lazy, slow, and arrogant.

Since I moved to Greece my life has only changed for the better. Greece is not a mess. Some people's life is. As an old saying says: " for as long as you gonna take your own *** with you, it will be the same **** wherever you go".

Go on now. Spend your August on 19C, full of rain and depression. Let's see how much you would pay for that the next summer...:)

My experience is that half-half people like you belong nowhere and are happy in..nowhere. Keep that in your mind when you will start complaining about Holland too in about few weeks after landing.

    Groetjes!

  9. I believe you

  10. I'm half Greek but lived in Holland for a few years and have gotten to know both countries quite well ...

Holland is ok in terms of pay, job security, housing etc however can really get on my nerves after a while because as much as I like the Dutch (and I have a number of good Dutch friends) I still find them oddly repressed and a little distant and rigid.  I think rigid is the best way to describe them.  The country is far less of a mess than Greece but can be frustrating too in the general reluctance to try to achieve a bit more, or better yourself or do things differently.

Greece, while not my favourite country in the world, has warm people (unless you live in Athens), MUCH better food and a great social atmosphere  plus a much warmer climate - Dutch winters can be long & hard & cold and there are lots of adverts on telly advertising reisje naar Spaanje of Griekenkland :D

I say: learn to like things about both countries so that you will enjoy wherever you live.  Every country has something great about it & every country has something not-so-great about it.  By focusing on the good you'll have a great time no matter where you are!!!

This way you can learn to love living in Holland and holidaying in Greece :D

  11. How well do you know Holland?

Greece is a mess?. can you give us some examples ?

Me personally I have been in Holland as a tourist and I will never go back there again . Amsterdam for me is a madness house , The country is dark and depressing . If I would stay there , for sure I would turn in to an alcoholic person .

  12. i agree in what you say abotu holland and yes greece can get in a mess but no other country can be with out a mess either each countrys has it devils and angels... ..i was in similar delema 30 years ago..did i choose correctlley? i cant say but what i did know was that its best to know the devil your already acustom to .than the devil you dont know nothing about.. let along all those angles..lol good luck girl i say go with your heart if you feel happy  thats it...
