  1. I wouldn't recommend grilling a frozen steak.  It could end up being over cooked on the outside while remaining very rare in the center for one. I don't believe it would necessarily "taste bad", but just not the ideal way to cook it.

When time allows, the meat should be taken from the fridge and able to sit for a bit before cooking on the stove or grill in order to avoid "shock" to the meat for best results.

  2. Sure it can be done but hopefully you like your steak rare because the outside will be done way before the inside.  If you're in an all-fire hurry, why not do the great sin of putting the frozen steak in the micro to thaw for just a minute or two and at least get it started so its not frozen solid.

We have some terrific ribeyes in our freezer and every once in a while my oldest son comes over and takes one out, he puts it in the microwave for about 2 minutes on LOW then he put it on a hot grill and it turns out fantastic every time.  Of course, we prefer our steak medium rare.

  3. you can do it but dont it will be bad and over cooked just run it under cool water for a bit and defrost it

  4. Yes, you can do it.  Yes, it will taste bad.  It doesn't take that long to unthaw a steak.  Either defrost it in the microwave, place it in a bowl of water, or run water over it in the sink.

  5. well the outside will be burnt and the inside still red,,try running under cold water while your BBQ is heating up.this will help..

  6. It ain't gonna be too good !!!!

  7. defrost gently in the microwave stopping every 30 secs or so to check that it hasn't gone too far and started cooking.  this may take around 3 minutes depending on the thickness of your steak and the strength of the defrost level on your microwave.  if it's a really, really good steak, i would wait until tomorrow

  8. I do it often because I forget to taike something out before leaving for work.  When I come home all is frozen.  So I oput it on the grill frozen.  What happens is that you know it will take longer so you may forget about it.  I have grilled the best steaks while they were still frozen.  They don't cook on the outside and stay raw on the inside either.  They have more of a tendancy to get over cooked on the inside as well.  More like well done than rare.   But do-able. And no it won't taste bad.
