Question:

Grizzlies sign Iranian center Hamed Haddadi?

The memphis grizzlies signed the 23 year-old center hamed haddadi to become the first Iranian player to enter the NBA... He is 7'2" and led all 2008 Olympians in rebounding and blocks. His best performance came against eventual bronze medal winner Argentina when he had a team-high 21 points and game-high 16 rebounds!

So What are your thoughts on him... Does he have the potential to develop into a productive center in this league or will he only go as far as back-up center during his whole career? Did he impress you during the olympics even though he was on a weaker team?

  1. What up Kian,

Well one thing i know is that you can't teach:  7 foot 2 and 23 years old.  A lot of it will depend on his work ethic and his ability to learn the American game-- it's a lot different game than the European game. Although i think he will be able to make an immediate impact defensively and i think his presence in Memphis will help- because so many people seem to be so High on Marc Gasol - and if he flops- you have Haddadi to develop as well- the two of them can actually end up being a pretty strong defensive frontcourt- paired with some of their perimeter scorers- not a bad nucleus to build for the future.

i think he will get limited minutes this year- and he'll have to earn his minutes.  But like i said you can't teach 7 foot 2 and he'll get his opportunity to prove himself.  i think his offensive game needs some polishing but he's got the potential to be pretty good.

  2. He is too slow and weak. watch on youtube. i didt understand it though. they already have darell arthur as PF, and Marc Gasol and Darko Milic as centers, why would they want more centers.

  3. He has the potential to be a great player in the nba but I wouldn't say an all star but a very good player.

  4. I don't think he'll be an All-Star or a Hall of Famer but he will be solid starter in the NBA. This guy is good.

  5. Bench player at best.

  6. i think he can be a great player. and ppl r jus gonna hate him cuz hes middle eastern

  7. I think he can become the next  Pau Gasol ! Maybe even a Yao Ming! But it wont happen right away and he'll have to work hard.

  8. Dont know if he'll play very well in the NBA those blocks could have very well been fouls and its easy to get rebounds when you can grab the ball off the rim

  9. He wont Be An All Star But A Good NBA Player Because He Is Tall

And Very Good In Defense Just Like Ben Wallace
