Question:

Group owner has abandoned group.?

Another person is moderator, but cannot change group membership status. Group needs to have restricted membership and moderated status for new members. A moderator cannot do this ... has to be an owner. Is there any way to designate a new owner? Otherwise we will have to DELETE the entire group and start over.

  1. Yahoo does not allow the designation of a new owner by group members, sry. You will have to do as you said - start a new group and have all members of your current group join it.

If you need further assistance, try the link below - it takes you to several "groups about groups".

  2. Unfortunately, no. The owner must "grant" the moderator to use the privileges. My best advise is that you create a new group and transfer the members there and be the owner of that group.

  3. yahoo will not assign moderator priviledges- only owners can do that.

you're not the only one in this spot either.
