  1. You should remove the male right now and don't breed if you care about your guinea pigs at all:

What you 'think' is completely wrong. Perhaps you should do some more research at the above sites before haphazardly breeding.

Parents will mate with their kids and siblings will mate with each other, and so forth.

  2. Hi There! you will tell that she is pregnant by her stomach will get very large around her waist. and you will be able to spot out skulls forming. When she is in labor take the male out and when she has the babies. Unless you want more babies its good to keep male and female guineas apart. You should wait until they are a few days old to a week to handle them. She will be protective but not protective enough to hurt you. she might come after your hand but by the 3 or 2 week she should be okay. She will always care for the babies and hold them when you think she'll be okay just not the first week. Keep male out of the cage always. Hope this helped. Good Luck to you! -Lily Allen♥☻☺

  3. Well yes. you should take the male out when she gives birth. the male might harm the babies.most likely she will not want you to touch her young ones. wait till they get older to hold them.keep the male out of the cage ontil there at least a week old. BUT MAKE SURE TO SUPERVISE!you can keep the brothers and sisters together ontil there at least 2 months old. that the ags when they mate.yeah its bad if the brothers and sisters mate then they'll have deformed babies.

  4. Hi

I have about 28 guineapigs that i keep as pets and also breed them,

The chances are very high that the female will become pregnant if she is kept permanantly with the male,

The female is pregnant for approximatelty 8 weeks, most of which you can keep the male with her but approaching her due date the male should be removed and housed seperately from her,

When the babies are born they are fully furred with eyes open and teeth so they can already eat the vegetables etc that you are feeding mum although they are not fully weaned until around 2 weeks old,

The male babies need to be taken away from mum and any sisters at 4 weeks of age otherwise they can get them pregnant and you cannot always keep them with dad as alot of adult boars can become aggressive towards younger boars,

Obviously it is also not a good idea to put dad back in with mum and the girls either as this can cause him to impregnate his daughters leading to inbreeding, most baby guineapigs would then go to new homes around 6 - 8 weeks of age assuming you have homes for them.

Even after this it is not a good idea to put mum and dad back together as she will need time for her body to recover before becoming pregnant again.

The daughter however will live more than happily with mum.

I usually pick my babies up after about 24 hours, I have never had any problems with aggressive guineapigs or them not nursing their babies but if you are worried leave them a bit longer.

You should make sure you have atleast 3 cages if you are planning on breeding from them, alternatively ask your vet about getting the male neutered and they will be able to live together happily without the worry of babies.

    Hope i've been some help
