Question

Ok, so I know like NOTHING about football. I'm kinda curious about it and stuff. so can someone tell me like everything about it and how to play?

p.s. I know like nfl teams and players and stuff, but i just wanna know how to play the game. help!

The point of the game of football is to move the football down the field to the endzone to score either a touchdown or kick the ball in between the two goal posts for a field goal within 4 downs. If you cannot move the ball by running or passing the ball for 10 yards within 4 downs, the other team gets the ball. A touchdown is 6 points and a field goal is 3 points. A field goal attemp after a touchdown is known as an extra point which is worth 1 point and is attemped at the opponent's 2 yard line. There are 4 quarters in a game that are 15 or 12 minutes long depending on what class of footbal (example: High school or NFL).

The basic idea, Annie, without getting too technical:

1. Teams get four plays (called downs) to advance the ball ten yards. So if they get four yards on first down; it sets up 2nd-and-6, and so on.

2. A touchdown-getting into an opponent's endzone, is worth 6 points. Teams then usually line up for an extra point kick (7 points). If they are behind, they can try to get in the endzone again for another 2 points (called a two point conversion).

3. A field goal is worth three points. This is done if a team is close enough to kick but can't get a first down or touchdown to continue the drive.

That's the basics on scoring. I'm probably not very good explaining it to you, but all everybody else did for you is add a link.

ermmmmm you cannot learn it in a day maybe just the basic......

football is very complicated if you dont have interest in it.....

well basically the team tries to reach the other field and the opponetns have to stop him....youre not allowed to pass the ball except for th equaterback and wnother thing strategy is the most important....thats the real basic......

there is a lot of rulez it would be a lot easier to jus watch a bunch of games and try to understand the game better thats how i learned

the other team has to get the football and go to the other side of the field  with the ball and its a touchdown kind of simple not the best answer btw
