Question:

Gymnastics Help, Please?

I used to be in gymnastics but I was never any good, and I want to improve since my friend is trying to get me to join the school team. I'm practicing my tumbling skills at home, but my wrists keep getting sore. I think it's because they aren't strong enough, but I'm not sure. The only things I've really been practicing are handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, back bends, and front limbers.

That being said, are there any exercises I could do to strengthen my wrists?

  1. Wrist Pushups. Stand near a wall and do a pushup and use your wrist not your arms(so keep your arms straight) and use your wrists to go from leaning on the wall to standing up.

Also, Im trying out for the high school gymnastics team. Have any questions, just ask/email.

  2. Push ups, weight lifting, pull ups (on bars), swings (on bars), more cartwheels, handstands, elbow stands. I broke my arm twice two years in a row on the same arm. Im a little weak but I try and never loose hope. Good luck I wish you all the best!
