  1. hmm..well usually most high schools have a gymnastics team

and a lot of schools don't even make you try out to be on the team. but it sounds like you have potential. it is definately not too late to start. i know a girl and she just joined my high school team last year and she had never done it before and at first, im not gonna lie, she sucked really bad..but as the season went on she actually got really good so don't think it's too late to start. i wouldn't try to learn how to do stunts like a back handspring by yourself though, that's really dangerous and you could really hurt yourself if you don't have a spotter.

there is a level for every type of gymnast (beginner, intermediate, advanced) so don't stress about not being able to do anything, you'll learn...if you can find a gymnastics center

all i can say is..keep looking for it.

good luck! gymnastics really is a great sport!

    :)

  2. okayy (:

    START GYMNASTICS.

you wont regret it! theres sooo many reasons why my co-coach told me id never be a good gymnast

    " your too tall" (5'6)

"you started too late" (age 13)

start at a gym in september. practice over the summer. you might even get in some comps because it sounds like yar already quite good - i only started gym with a front walkover, handstand, cartwheel, splits and backbend. now im awesome, trust me, i do comps for level 6/7 skills. i LOVE it. i'd be so devastated if i left it too late to start

    SO START

or you will regret it meggaaaa time

    (:

    goodluck♥

  3. if you really love the sport then there should be nothing stopping you from trying it out.  but don't try anything too crazy without a coach. if your school has a gymnastics team i'd say go out for it. i'm 5'9'' and i'm a gymnast.  the tallest gymnast was like 5'5'' and everybody told me i could never be good because of my height.  now i'm a level 7-8 gymnast. it didn't stop me.  so just pursue your dreams

    answer mine too please...

  4. You can search for gyms on the USAG website (usa-gymnastics.org), or you can look in the phonebook-- there's tons of coaches in my area that are not listed with USAG. No handed flips...do you mean tucks, layouts, fulls?

WHAT ARE YOU DOING TEACHING YOURSELF SUCH DANGEROUS STUFF?!?! Please tell me you have someone spotting you who knows what they're doing......!

Listen, I coached a girl once who had no experience in gymnastics whatsoever, but she loved it. So she started taking gymnastics. She was fifteen, and she progressed quickly.

So, that's my advice-- search on the USAG website, in your phonebook, and DON'T PRACTICE ALONE! Get someone who knows what they're doing to spot you! That's sooooooo dangerous!!
