  1. Rather than posting this in the adoption section, you should have put it in the pregnancy section.

Many people here in the adoption section are unable to get pregnant, and these types of questions posted here are unfair to them.

  2. You need the OB = Obstetrics part of things.  YES it matters.  While all ob/gyns are trained in both, some choose to practice simply gynecology.  sometimes malpractice insurance is the reason, otherwise it is expertise or personal preference.

But you definately want to find an obstetrician.  Are you in a state where it is difficult to find someone who is taking pregnant women?  If so you might try to establish care with an obstetrician before becoming pregnant.

  3. well, I want an ObGyn b/c she can also deliver my baby. sometimes ppl want both b/c they can be the baby's dr, even after they're born

  4. Neither, you have to go see a Reproductive Endocrinologist.

  5. I would go to an OB/GYN so that I could continue care with the same doctor before, during and after the pregnancy.

  6. You should have an Obgyn if you are pregnant. That is a doctor for pregnant women.

  7. OB-Gyn is a doctor that specializes in Obstetrics (pregnancy & delivery) and Gynecology (Womens issues). You should see one that can do both if you are trying to get pregnant. Some even have specialties also in fertilzation, etc.
