Hello I just bought a new HD-A3 Toshiba HD-DVD Player. I was wondering if anyone would give me a few suggestions on some audio systems less than $100 that would go great with it.

Please no negative comments! TY!

  1. With or without speakers?

It is tough to find anything decent with speakers, but check Logitech

    http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/speake...

Or try to find a home theater in a box with an S/PDIF input.

  2. I have to agree with the others you will not be happy with speakers costing under $100.00.

Going back to basic stereo systems it was recommended that the greater amount of money was spent on the speakers. if you spend 200 on the receiver you should spend at least 350 on the set of speakers.

If you spend 50 on speakers it will sound like a $50 system

  3. You will not find a worthwhile, or even cheap surround sound system for less than $175 buckaroos.

You are better served saving your money for something of higher quality that will not only last longer, but be more fulfilling.

I'm a hardcore home theater and DJ enthusiast and I have 4 Cerwin-Vega CV-1800 amps (that's 2,400 watts) spread over 4 Cerwin-Vega INT-252's (they have dual 2 way 15'' speakers, and a loudhorn) also 4 Cerwin Vega EarthQuake subs.

Save up some money and get this system. Then you'll really be rockin' your HD DVD and HDTV.

Check out Cerwin Vega at www.cerwin-vega.com/

(of course, this will run significantly more than $100, try a couple grand)
